What is Making Reference?

Making Reference is a short-form history project built around one idea: if you give someone sixty seconds, you can give them a story they never forget.

Each History Minute episode focuses on a single moment, mission, or person from the Second World War. The visuals draw from wartime photography, vintage military posters, and cinematic storytelling, with a focus on the people and human stakes behind the history.

The series spans stories across the European and Pacific theaters, from well-known operations to little corners of the war that deserve more attention.
